Terms of Service

Effective date: 14 April 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the agreement between you and Imbram Wojdak, the independent developer of the Satomi iOS app (“Satomi”, “we”, “us”). They cover how you can use the app, what you pay for it, the limits of the AI coaching, and what to do if something goes wrong. Please read them carefully — by using Satomi you agree to them.

Important health notice. Satomi is a wellness and coaching app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat any condition, and nothing it says is a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have a medical concern, speak to a qualified doctor. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number.

1. Accepting these Terms

By creating a Satomi account, signing in, or using any part of the app, you confirm that you have read these Terms and our Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use Satomi.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Satomi account and use the app. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. Satomi is not intended for children, and we will close any account we believe belongs to a minor.

3. Your account

  • You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
  • One account per person. Do not share your account with anyone else or let anyone else use it.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for anything that happens under your account.
  • If you think someone else has accessed your account, email imbramwdev@gmail.com straight away.

4. Subscriptions, free trial, and payment

Satomi is a paid service. The current plans are:

  • Monthly plan — £6.99 per month.
  • Annual plan — £29.99 per year (works out cheaper per month).
  • Free trial — new subscribers get a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan will start and your chosen payment method will be charged.

All subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. That means Apple, not us, processes your payment and controls the billing relationship. By subscribing, you also agree to Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Auto-renewal.Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, which is Apple’s standard rule.

How to cancel. Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, tap Satomi, and tap Cancel Subscription. You will keep access until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. Nothing in these Terms removes any refund right you may have under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Price changes. If we change subscription prices, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.

5. The AI coach is not medical advice

Satomi uses Google Gemini to generate coaching responses about food, sleep, activity, and general wellbeing. AI models can be wrong, out of date, or biased, and Satomi’s suggestions may not be suitable for you.

  • Satomi is not a doctor, dietitian, therapist, personal trainer, or any other regulated health professional.
  • Nothing Satomi tells you should be treated as a diagnosis, prescription, or medical treatment.
  • Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise routine, or medication, and before starting Satomi if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an eating disorder, have a chronic condition, or take any medication that could be affected by diet or activity changes.
  • Meal photo analysis is an estimate — the calorie and protein numbers are approximate and should not be relied on for clinical decisions or for managing conditions such as diabetes.

You use Satomi’s coaching at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on what the app says.

6. Acceptable use

When you use Satomi, you agree not to:

  • Break the law or encourage anyone else to break the law.
  • Upload photos of other people or content you do not have permission to use.
  • Send messages that are abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent, or designed to hurt yourself or others.
  • Try to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app, except to the extent the law says you may.
  • Use the app to build a competing product, scrape our AI provider, or train another machine-learning model.
  • Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security or rate-limiting feature (including Firebase App Check).
  • Use automated means to create accounts or spam the AI.

If you break these rules we may suspend or delete your account without refund.

7. Your content

You keep all rights to the photos, messages, and other content you put into Satomi (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and process Your Content — including sending it to Google Gemini for analysis — purely so we can run the app for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we need a short period to finish removing backups.

You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm you have the right to upload it and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights.

8. Our intellectual property

Satomi’s name, logo, app design, source code, copy, and artwork are owned by Imbram Wojdak and protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may use them only as part of normal, lawful use of the app. Nothing in these Terms gives you any right in our brand or code.

9. Changes to the app

Satomi is an actively developed product. We may add, remove, or change features; update the AI model; or pause the service for maintenance. We will try to give reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce what you pay for, and you can cancel your subscription if a change does not work for you.

10. Third-party services

Satomi relies on Firebase, the Google Gemini API, Apple HealthKit, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers’ terms. If a third-party service becomes unavailable, part of Satomi may stop working until we can fix it or find an alternative.

11. Termination

You can stop using Satomi any time. To end everything, open the app, go to Settings, and choose Delete Account. This deletes your cloud and local data. To cancel a paid subscription separately, cancel it in the App Store as described above.

We can suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if your payment fails, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the app. If we close your account because you broke the rules, you are not entitled to a refund.

12. Disclaimers

Satomi is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the app being uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UK law, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

13. Limitation of liability

Subject to the paragraph above:

  • We are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the app, for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in subscription fees in that period and (b) £100.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims brought by third parties that result from your misuse of the app, breach of these Terms, or content you upload that infringes someone else’s rights.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of them will be dealt with exclusively by the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home country’s courts.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The “Effective date” at the top shows when the current version started. If you keep using Satomi after an updated version takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not, please stop using the app and delete your account.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of Satomi.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms, that is not a waiver of that right.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will still apply.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours, for example if the Satomi business is reorganised or sold, provided your rights are not reduced.

18. Contact

Email first and we will share a postal address if you need one for a formal notice.
